Tangfolio Revolver question
« on: June 25, 2007, 07:52:14 AM »
Does anyone know where i can find info on these revolvers?  I just picked up a .22LR cheap and wondered about the history, diagrams and parts info. IIRC, It is a TA-86.  Gun Parts Corp does not show it in their catalog.

Thanks

I have one that I bought new in 1976.  Somewhere at home I have the books for it.  I'm on the road right now and will not be home for a week.  I'll send you info as soon as I can.  Mine is a single action .22RF, with two cylinders.  One for .22 S,L, and LR.  The other one is for .22 Mag.  I really like the safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin, works great.  Rog

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I didn't know it came with two cylinders.  .22 mag would be a nice thing to have.  I would appreciate that info.  Thanks.

Mine is the TA-76 single-action.  Very similar to today's Heritage Rough Rider.  My barrel is marked ".22LR" and the cylinder ".22Magnum".  Cheapo chrome finish on alloy frame, and cheesy yellowed plastic grips - looks like a kid's cap pistol.  Good reliable gun, and a decent shooter.
I even purposely got a cheapo studded leather western holster for it to enhance it's "cheesyness".
I outshot another range visitor with a Ruger Singlesix - both .22 Magnums popping sodacans on the 50 yard berm!  More due to my having practiced more, I'm sure.
I've been looking for a .22LR cylinder, but Numrich has only the Magnums.

I took mine to the range for the first time last week.  It shot terribly.  At 7 yards, it was all over the target.  15 yards wasn't even hitting the target.  it wasn't shooting in the same place consistently.  It was all over.

Any ideas?
