i got a .204 ruger barrel for my contender carbine. its 23inches long, bull barrel, it doesnt lock up tight when action is closed. i have several other carbine barrels that do. is this a locking lug issue?
thank you!

Sounds like locking bolts. You may need to try a different set to get the right fit.

Before you order a new set, take a set off of a barrel that you have that works and install 'em on your "problem barrel". That way you will know for sure if it is the lugs or not.

What style frame are you putting the barrel on ? If it is the locking bolts...theres a chance i may have the ones you need.
G2 or Original Contender ?
There are several types of locking bolts...........

i put my 23" factory .17HRM on my Contender G2 carbine yesterday evening and noticed the same issue. can grab the barrel near the action when closed and feel quite a bit of side to side play. I was thinking hinge pin... Figure if i call TC about it they will want me to send it in. Cant live without it in the middle of chuck season though.... anyone know where i can get a set of lugs to try?? Will swap in a set off another barrel to try for starters
