Sidekick SS Weather Resistance
« on: June 28, 2007, 11:46:56 AM »
Just wondering about the weather resistance of the Sidekick SS.

1. Does the interior and exterior of the gun resist rust well?

2. Does moisture (rain) make its way into the breech easily to ruin the power charge?

I plan on hunting with this gun exclusively, even during regular gun season.  And I don't want to have to "cover it" every time it starts raining.  Will it serve me well in wet weather?

Thanks,

Big Mac

I didn't have any issues with weather with mine, but I did notice that you need to clean it the same day if using pyrodex.  I shot mine and left it loaded for a couple of days while hunting last season and had some small rust spots in the barrel.  Not as much corrosion resistance as my White Whitetail.
