Yes! Now is not a good time to buy stock in Pyrodex.  777 burns faster (ignition) .... the bullet goes faster (with same volume).... it's much easier to clean (no sulfur).

For instance, when using 100 grains... 777 will produce 250-350 more velocity PSI than pyro. The only disadvantage 777 has is with the use of 777 pellets in side-hammer traditional rifles. It is not recommended as of yet... but that may change in the future. on the bottom of Pyrodex pellets  are 5-10 grains of blackpowder (or) similar substance that aids in sure-firing... so far.... 777 does not.  Buy the loose... use it in any bp rifle.

HI Bim:  That was good scoup on 777. I've also noted the granules of the 2F 777 are larger than the Goex 2F black powder I usually shoot. I shot some this spring and had a couple of delayed fires using the 777 45 gr in my .54 renegade by T/C.  This rifle breech doesn't have a straight line to the barrel and I experienced the same problem using Pyrodex.If
If you try to pour the contents into a goex can, there  is more in the 777 plastic bottle than the metal 1lb goex can will hold.(I prefer to store the 777 in a more moisture resistant and tighter sealing can.) So, this shows that the volume of the granules have to be bigger than 2f goex. I gave up trying to fill my powder horn with the stuff. Have fun burnin' what ever you shoot :D
