Did T/C make a 9mm pistol barrel?
« on: June 29, 2007, 10:02:37 AM »
Hey Gents,

I am a dedicated T/C Contender hunter and fan. I just inherited something like 3000 rounds of 9mm pistol ammo!

I don't shoot any 9mm pistols, autos, wheel guns, etc..

Did or does T/C make a barrel for the 9mm. I would like to shoot this stuff, if I possibly can!

Yes
In oct. & bull, 10 inch, for sure. I do not know about 14 or 16 inch. I heard the bull had a different twist than the oct. and it shot better. I cannot testify to the truth of that statment.

I have a 10" octagon that really likes 147 gr bullets, but is only of mediocre accuracy with lighter bullets. I have found that by handloading the RP 147 JHP bullets on the warm side, accuracy was outstanding. I have seen the 10" bull barrels, but have never shot one.

It may or may not be an issue, but in the case of the 30 Carbine 10" octagon versus 10" bull, there was a different twist used. The bull would handle 150 gr bullets, but the octagon quit at 130 gr.

I don't know if the same applies to the 9mm, or not. It's a nice toy, any way you slice it.
