Taken from the Remington website, here is the current offerings from Remington in .308. They probabloy don't offer the .308 in a CDL because the Model 7 is the premier short action rifle at Remington. In the Model 7 CDL it probably is waht you would get in a straight CDL anyway.
As far as the BDL goes, the BDL days may be numbered. If Remngton wouldn't have come out with the CDL, the BDL may have survived. But I don't think it looks good for the BDL. With the CDL and SPS, the BDL really doesn't have much to offer that is different or better than what is already offered.
With the new owners that will more than likely demand performance from the bottom line, the Model 7 could also be in danger if those imported 798's and 799's get legs.
