Anyone try Barnes new Varmint Grenade out of a contender yet? I was thinking of trying them in a 6 TCU and a .223 (both pistols). I would use them for groundhogs this summer and fox coyote in the fall.
Just wondering about accuracy, etc,.

Haven't tried it yet. just wondering about loads for it. probably similar to 40 gr. I would like to hear from someone who has tried it, too. sounds impressive. at least, the sound and video clips are great.

I have not shot the bullet. I was going to order some. But not now. I have been hearing alot of talk on the "Varmint Hunter" web site. All the early reviews about effect on varmints has been bad. The velocitiies and accuracy have been good. Go to that site, there are several posts about the new bullet. Tom.

I tried them but was not able to get them to shoot consistent groups from either my 15" encore 1-12 twist or my 1-9 Nef bull .223 tried to work up loads for prairie dogs gave up before I got it done I got a box of 50+ left I would mail ya for $9. Kurt

I tried them in a .221 FB 16 1/2" Bullberry barrel. They were not spectacular but suitable for that gun. They are not 400 yd. bullets but the gun wasn't a 400 yd. gun either. My only attempt at groups I was getting around 1-1.25" five shots groups. The gun is capable of better.
