For the price of the rifle, interchangeable barrels you are getting a fairly good deal.

I have a .243 and it is a decent gun.  Heavy barrel, fairly accuracte.  I have shot 2-3 caribou with it and it did all right 250-300 yards. I did find it to be a little long throated and now handload it that way.

The triggers on some seem to be heavy.  If you send it back they will work on the trigger and return it about 3 pounds for you.  There is quite a following on there guns and you can read more at: HR1871.com

I have a Harrington & Richardson Ultra Rifle in .25-06.  It is basically the same as the Handi-Rifle.  Mine has a heavy barrel and a laminated stock.  Very nice rifle.  You can send the receiver back to the factory and have another barrel fitted to it so that you can have a multi-caliber rifle.

Thanks for the replies on this, ended up finding a deal on a Savage 111 7mm Rem Mag, that I'm going to use in the meantime, maybe in the future I'll pick up a NEF for varmint hunting.
