I was wanting better open sights for my .30-06 TCR-83 Aristocrat, since my eyes aren't getting any younger.
I already have a scoped.30-06 Ruger #1, but wanted to use the TCR for woods loafing.
My TCR had the issue open sights.
I saw the fiber-optic Firesights, in the Fox Ridge Outfitters catalog, and thought they
might fit.
I noticed that the issue rear sight was identical to the rear sight on a friend's Thunderhawk - height, hole spacing and all. So I ordered a set, front rear, for a ThunderHawk.
Bingo ! A perfect fit - which I zeroed today. I was getting 100yd 3-shot groups just under 2" - which made me a happy camper, 'cause I can't see that good !
The sights looked normal (dark) because I was shooting from a roofed-over bench area, at my club - and should be just great in dim light situations.
