Kimber 300 win short mag problems
« on: July 03, 2007, 05:14:15 PM »
My friend bought a new Kimber 8400 in 300 Win. short mag. last year. After a box or two the bolt became very hard to turn when trying to eject a fired round. He says the bolt face shows more wear on one side. I know he had an old sporter 98 that did the same thing.Any infomation or advice would be most welcome. Thanks--------------Ron

In a 98 I'd say it sounds like the locking lug has set back but not the Kimber!! Maybe dirt in the locking lug recess? Clean and lube the rifle lightly. Grease is appropriate on the locking lugs..
