I still wish I had bought a Model Trapper in .32 Winchester, that had all you mention, but also a big hoop lever.  You will also need to shorten the magazine tube and the magazine spring.  You will lose about three rounds capacity.  I always felt funny carrying a full magazine in my 94, because I could see no need for so many rounds, so I generally only put three rounds in anyway. For my money, I think the button magazine looks best on a short gun.  You will need to have the dovetail for the front sight recut in the shorter barrell (you aren't thinking of scoping it are you?) .   Good luck.  Post before and after pictures if you have this done.

You probably want to make sure the gunsmith you choose is good, but it probably wouldn't have to be one of the "famous" ones.   Cutting and crowning the barrel SHOULDN'T be too difficult, and the magazine MIGHT not be too difficult either.  The shipping cost and hassle can make the price go higher also.

My 94 Trappers and Wranglers in .30/30 hold 5 in the full-length magazines + 1 in the chamber.

For an awesome metal finish, I suggest W.E. Birdsong in Florence, MS.

Where are you located?

The shipping to/from a gunsmith or to have a new finish applied might make it TOO expensive, but W.E. Birdsong's Black-T or Green-T finish is exceptional.
