30 TC
« on: July 07, 2007, 03:07:19 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the new 30 TC, and if so what you thought about it.  Will it last, will it be short lived?  Is recoil really that much less than the 30-06?  I'm not thinking about getting one, just wondering what the you think about it.

If it's launching the same weight bullets at the same velocity as 30-06 the recoil will be the same regardless of what the advertisements claim

If it achieves the same velocity with the same bullet but with less powder, recoil will be less; but, the difference may not be noticeable.  The .30TC seems only marginally better than a .308 Win or .300 Savage.  Still, I'm all for more choices, even if those choices are largely the domain of right-handed shooters.

T/C must have been desperate and having delusions of grandeur to bring out the 30 TC.  I'm all for having choices in cartridges but the 30 TC in my eyes has absolutely no advantages over several other .30 caliber cartridges out there with readily available brass, bullets, etc.  In my opinion, the 30 TC should and will have a brief life.
