Here is an easy one on the coyote poop. They eat rabbits, birds, mice, ect. WHOLE. I mean hair, squeak and all. The poop will have hair in it. Lots of hair. In the fall, when persimmons are in season it will have persimmon seeds in it. The track is going to be longer than wide NOTICEABLEY.

Somewhat. Remember, coyotes mark their territory with urine and poop, so be on the scout in trails, and along rural roadways. Many times you will see it in the road, so stop and check that out. This is not unusual but, quite often the norm. Coyotes tend to travel the path of least resistance.

Get you a tape of a siren, and play it full blast for about 15 seconds, and then shut it off. Coyotes cannot resist answering back. Excellent way of locating them. I personally use a howler, just to see if any are in the area but, a siren is just as good, and sometimes of the year better.

You can Google Coyotes+tracks and such with good results...

I would go with a Howler for locating. A Primos Hotdog should be readily available and comes with an instruction CD.
A tape or mp3 of a siren or even a train whistle can work well but you are going to need a decent player or the sound will just be too puny.
