Yes, I am interested- I can draw or scale them in autocad, but I'm mostly interested in good accuracy to the original if possible.
Thank you very much for the reply.

With Double D's permission, I could scale a Dictator to golfball and soda can size for your use.  I have not been able to find a good side view or section of a Dictator yet.

neilert,

I know this is a bit off the direction you were looking. But, Dominick Carpenter makes a 1" bore Dictator that can't be beat. This thing is awesome! If, nothing else it will give you a real good visual of a scale Dictator.

Good Luck with your new project. We look forward to seeing the progress.

Double D gives permission!

Send me an email and I will send you a copy of the plans.  They seem to loose resolution when posted here.

Thanks Double D!  When I receive them, I'll send them back to you scaled for your use, as a pdf or an autocad file if you could use it.

Thanks again, I can't wait to start this project.....

Double D, I sent an email for the plans- they look very detailed, it's exactly what I needed.  I noticed there is no powder chamber.  Did the Dictator have one?

Try AOP No. 41.  It will have everything at full scale.

By the way, the plans posted by DD were made for models by William F. Green.

I would very much like a set of plans as well as talked about in posts above including the autocad versions of golf ball and soda can sized dictator, I'll pay you postage or whatever? I hope to make one of these if I ever get a lathe.  I have a copy of the origional dictator plans from antique ordnance publishers but Double D's plans look different? I have just been taking the plans and shrinking them on a Xerox machine to find the reduced sizes. Not too accurate I'm sure.  What is AOP #41 that George is talking about?

Scott AOP 41 is the Dictator plans you have from Antique Ordnance Publishers.

For those of you who don't know Scott,  He built one of the best full Size Dictators ever posted on this board a couple of years ago....He didn't paint it,  he left it in the "white"!!

I saved the drawing, printed it as a picture, and it was crystal clear. The title block says that it is plate one of two. Is it possible to get the second page, with the base, posted? Looks like a nice set of plans and would be greatly appreciated, not only by myself but I'm sure by many others as well. It's going to be a great project. I've been waiting for the right project to come along so I can post the project on GBO and, man, this is going to be a fun one!

Yes I did, Thanks. I'm looking them over now trying to get a materials list going. I think I might thicken up the side plates to an 1/8" and put a nice arc on the front, top, step plate. It looks like the one in the photo is rounded in the front so you could walk around the front of barrel, maybe for loading?

Does anyone have golfball or soda can bore dictator mortar plans?  I'd like for a dictator to be the next project.

A 13" seacoast mortar scaled to golf balls would be 5 5/8" diameter and scaled to beer can diameter would be 8.68" in diameter (virtually the same diameter as a full scale Coehorn.)  Going just from the scale factor, the golf ball version would weigh about 40 lbs; the beer can version would weigh about 140 lbs.

i'll go by the age factor, i'm getting older so that 40lbs sounds a whole lot more fun than 140lbs....

I agree-  it looks like a golfball dictator will be the way I go.  I haven't had a chance to scale the dictator yet.  It looks like a few others will be building one as well.
I may have the carriage sides waterjet cut.  Would anyone be interested in a set if I have some extras cut?  There's probablly some savings, because my waterjet shop charges by the hour rather than by the unit.

neilert, If you wouldn't mind, I would also love to get a copy of of the cad drawings whenever you get them done. I can see myself building a soda can version this winter and it's so much faster and easier to scale up or down with cad files. Thanks.

Me too, Me too, Me too!  (Cad version - dwg or dxf)

I already have the steel cut for the tube and have done a prototype golf-ball caliber tube.

I don't have enough space in my driveway for that, even if I removed my jeep.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

I'm not sure my driveway would hold 17000 lbs in that small of a footprint and once it was set down, I would be unable to move it.

Is it possible to get the second page, with the base, posted?

See this web page for the William F. Green base plan sheet.
