Parts interchange?
« on: July 11, 2007, 01:05:21 PM »
Does anyone know if the parts from the repair kit that Cabelas sells with the hammer, hand and spring, trigger, bolt, and mainspring for their Pietta Colt type revolvers will work in an Armi San Marco revolver? Also, the nipples are not the standard 6mm x.75, they are smaller. What other size is there that might fit? Thanks for any info.

Yes, but expect to do some fitting.  I've switched out parts between Pietta and ASM on many guns.  Some do and some don't.  The hammer may be to wide or the hand might be too long, etc.  You may also get lucky and everything will fit right in.

As for the nipples, try www.thunder-ridge-muzzleloading.com and get their aftermarket Tresos or their own brand of stainless nipples for the ASM.  They do have a list of gun mfrs and corresponding sized nipples along with the order number

Also check www.vtigunparts.com.  They do have a limited number of ASM parts available, much of it being internal parts.

Thanks for the links. I knew about VTI but wasn't aware of Thunder Ridge. Will give them a try.
