This is 2 of mine,  top gun is a 12 ga. with a fully rifled hex barrel,  Greener Martini Police shotgun action , curley maple stocks and a 2.75 X Burris scout scope.

The black gun started out as a Mossberg 500 in 410 ga.  Now has a fully rifled 44 caliber barrel, Weaver K 1.5 , and shoots handloaded 44 cal rifle bullets in 2 1/2" 410 casings at approximate velocity to a muzzleloader with the same bullet.   Legal for deer hunting here in Ohio, Hope to kill with it this year !

I finally got this thing put together. It's only taken three years due to the Army life. It's a Savage barreled action, Rifle Basix trigger, Talley LW rings (bedded and lapped) with a Vari-XIII 3.5-10x40mm, and a McMillan stock (pillar and full length bedded with Devcon).

It doesn't like most discarding sabots too well. The best they do is 3-4MOA except the Remington Accutip with averages 2MOAish with an occasional two in one hole and a third an inch or so away but those are RARE.

It likes the non-discarding sabots best; Hybrid EXP, Buckhammers, etc. I've got a bunch of full bore solids to feed it next. After that I'll load up some of the SPW with pistol bullets.

That's a very nice slug gun!  You really put together some top-shelf parts.  Nice work.

My sons chipped in and got Santa to bring me this Savage 220 20 gauge slug gun. Can't wait for a test drive. Scope mount is on the way.

ptpalpha,
thanks. building the guns is as much fun as shooting them. i was going to put a custom barrel on it too but the factory tube shoots too good to justify it. now that the buckhammers are discontinued and the spw have been out of stock i may look at it though.

epanzella,
i think you'll love that thing. i know a guy who has one and i put all the parts together for him. we took it to the range and it shot Rem Accu-tips really well. light and nimble for a slugger too. if i ever buy another slug gun it will be a 220f

My Remington 11-87 Premier with a slug sighted bbl with IC choke. We killed six deer with it this year at Lake somerville in Texas.
