  What is the mildest shooting factory load available for the 45/70?

Probably a load designed for cowboy-action shooting, usually loaded with black powder substitute. You may want to try Ten-X, black hills cowboy, etc.  Nice thing about the 45-70, it can be loaded to mild levels, or rhino stompers.
