woohoo! got my Handi
« on: July 12, 2007, 04:52:19 PM »
Just picked up my first Handi Rifle from walmart today. Boy, I'm really impressed by this rifle, and I haven't even shot it yet! Its heavier than I was expecting, which I like. Its got better wood than I was hoping for too. After removing the rear sight and replacing it with a peep sight, adding a sling and shell holder I cant wait to see how Handi this rifle really is. The triggers pretty good too, but I'm hoping it'll get better as it breaks in. I got some Winchester 150g PP to semi zero it with. I plan on hand-loading some 150gr Spitzers soon looking at TC Contender data. Man I'm really like this rifle! Now I can see why some y'all have so many!

What is it? What caliper? It's good to see your enthusiasm! How about some details. Hope it's a good shooter!

Oh yeah forgot to mention. Its a 30-30 Winchester. That's good enough for everything around my parts(Kansas). I'm gonna hand-load for it so I should be able to come up with some pretty accurate loads using TC Contender data and spitzer bullets. Might even load some 110s and zap some prairie dogs  ;D Ill try to get some pictures, its nothing fancy, but it feels like a million bucks...

BTW, which is better to have, ejectors or extractors? Mine has the extractor.

Ejectors vs Extractors - it is a matter of personal choice. :o Each have their advantages and of course disadvantages. ;D

30-30 is a nice caliper. The T/C loads should work nice. I'm loading some 130 gr. Hornaday SP's for my daughter's Savage 340 30-30 bolt action in hopes to get alittle better range.

Reloaders appreciate extractors, bad shots appreciate ejectors.   ;D
