Technique for levering your rifle

Heyya

I was just wonderin how any of you actuate the lever on your main match rifle.  I have seen people do it different ways.

I only insert my ring and middle finger of my right hand into the lever, pulling the side of the ring finger up against the inside rear of the lever.  I also leave the little finger on the outside, rear of the lever.  My right thumb does not curl around the top of the stock, but instead is basically straight up.

Anyone do it different than this?

I use my ring and index fingers to lever. My first finger straightens out along side of the lever and I insert it back into the trigger guard when closed. My little finger is outside the loop. I do have a leather wrap on the bottom of the lever and that is how I do mine.

Well, as usual I'm the differant one. I lever with the last three fingers inside the loop and my thumb sticks straight up. I don't use a wrap, but my fingers fill the loop pretty well and I have never needed one.

Cuts Crooked, the tequnique you describe is the wat Annie Oakley shot, and it works fine, A young lady shooter in our club (Annie Oakfield) shoots that way too.  Annie Oakley did it for speed, her thumb automatically tripped the trigger when she closed the bolt.
