No disrespect meant - But, I love it, when dealers price their guns at (or below) "Blue Book value".
I've invariably profited, every time I've bought at "Blue Book", or less - then later sold.
IMHO, the only things , that the Blue Book is good for are the excellent condition pics, the serial number histories, and the various little anecdotes on different gun companies/models.
JMO, but BB is way outdated, on value.
It does, however, offer comparative values between various brands, so one can get a sense of which would offer a better bang-for-the-buck.
A much better source, of current gun values, are closed/sold auctions.
