In typical Chinese fashion, it was without due process.

BILL. I've worked for them about 5 years now. 93% of everything in that store is foreign made, 85% of that comes from China. They haven't bragged about American made for a lot of years now. The hiring turnover rate is usually 58- 60 %, thats the way they like it. By keeping a high turnover the pay rates stay low because they continually pay at the starting rate, thereby keeping their overhead at a minimal. I've had worse jobs for less money, so I'm not complaining. Guess I better shut up now before I get started. POWDERMAN.  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Thank you, Powderman.  :D

Uuuuhhhh, if China were to call in our debt to them, we (the USA) would be bankrupt.  No ifs, ands or buts. And don't blame Bush.  It's the Joneses. Keeping up with them is running us all into the ground.

Let's see, Walmart is the largest employer behind the US gov'ment so if they bellied up, I'm sure the Mom and Pop gun shops and sporting goods shops would be able to take up the slack.  'Course that doesn't mean that they aren't selling 85-95% foreign goods themselves.  Just at a higher price than Wally.

I was just talking to my wife about this, and we say good riddance, but more should go (to the great beyond) too.  I don't know if you heard, but there was more at stake than the deaths of our dogs and cats.  Chinese food and drug products were responsible for several human deaths in Panama due to tainted toothpaste. When our USDA inspectors were finally allowed to check out the factories, low and behold, they had been shut down and everyone had run away!  To shoot the Chinese equal to the Director of the USDA, is a good start, but they need to track down the factory owners and administer justice too.  But the real problem is why are we importing so much foreign food and drug material in the first place!  In a country that always has a surplus of grain products, why do we import wheat gluten thru Canada from China?  I read where the USDA had ramped up inspections and only found problems with the Chinese products.  It smells fishy here!  I've asked my wife not to buy any food product from China.

That might be a good idea.  Maybe we're so busy shipping our grain to all these third world countries that are so busy killing each other and breeding like rats that they don't have time to grow food for themselves that there's none left over for us.

China makes almost everything we use now from bolts to cars. It comes with a cheap price and so their industry grows.  Walmart buys the crap to keep prices low.   I talked to a serviceman from the Yamaha place and even he said they are flooding the market with atvs and it is hurting them.  So I guess the Japanese are hurting too.   You can buy a Honda 110cc clone for $429 vs the $2800 for a Japanese bike.  I know the quality of the Japanese stuff is better but the price is what most people use to make a decision.  I was shocked to learn that the Cheverolet Equinox used engines made in China.  Go fiqure, soon we will  try to outsource sunshine.  It will be the only thing that doesn't come from China.

Quite a bit of our grain is now being used for Bio-diesel(soybeans) and corn for flex-fuel(ethanol). So the price of our beef and bread is going up, as the farmer is making more money raising crops for fuel. We're importing more food now more than ever. And with the housing developments taking up farm lands, it's going to get worse. We'll see more and more imports of food in the coming years. What happened with the Chinese minister happened out of greed. What might happen if a terrorist group finds a way to contaminate a food supply. I've seen cans of soups and such, at our local Odd Lots store, a Cambell label, but the writing was in Spanish.(Wonder where that lot of food came from??) Don't care one way or the other about the Chinese guy, but I believe it's going to happen again.-gypsyman

GYPSYMAN. Sorry to say it but a lot of things are labeled in spanish too, helps the mexs so they don't have to learn ENGLISH. In walmart some of the air fresheners are labeled spanish first, then English underneath. No reason for anything here to be in anything but ENGLISH. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

You're right, Shootall, but what should be and what is are two different things.  I'm not even sure that you can trust what is made in the U.S.A. anymore.

I agree , we have seen the cheeping of most of the tools we use ! we ask why and are always told FOREIGN COMPETITION , some of the tools are one of a kind with no competition of any kind !
Look at firearms , they get junkier and we are told good stuff won't sell ! Yet a few companies do a good job with high end products ! Look at 1911's more are sold today than ever , and glocks are here , so with a choice good 1911's still hold up in the market !
Can't help but wonder if Winchester had built a good gun since 64 if they would not still be making them !
No i believe we have gotten the walmart attitude and we will accept junk ! as a nation !
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
