We started selling a scope called the Clearpoint. It is distributed by Crosman airguns but isn't on their website. It is 4-16x40 with AO and two color, illuminated mil-dot reticle. For get this.........$69. It is crap above 10 power, but is VERY clear at the low end. Granted, it has no coatings to speak of, I am sure that it would be really difficult in bright sunlight. What has everyone excited here is the illuminated reticle so they can shoot pests.
So...has anyone ever used one? I am sure that it would not be very durable for any real recoil, but would be pretty sweet for a 22 or 22 Mag.
Any thoughts on illuminated reticles in cheap scopes? One guy bought one for a 223. I would think that would be as rough as I would go.
Do lens coatings make a difference at night? I would think that glare would still be a problem.
Any thoughts on night shooting in general?
