remington 512 - 514 sight thread

The 512 is shooting low and I want to raise the rear sight with a shim, so I need a longer screw.  The 512 and 514 have rthe same rear sight.  Does anyone know the thread so I can search around for a longer  screw.  Thanks.

Your rear sight uses an elevator or wedge with steps in it that rides in the slot in the rear sight blade. You can follow the link and part is listed as number 19. They are available from any gunsmith and the parts houses such as GunParts. Also most well run gunshops have an assortment and can sell you what you need.
