Those were cool! I wonder what all it takes to get approval for live fire/exploding shells!? I think I'll leave that to the professionals, regardless!

Regarding shooting live exploding rounds, you cant shoot them anymore at Camp McCoy or any other military base in the US, 9-11 changed that.  You can only shoot solid shot now as at the matches at Camp Grayling michigan. Regarding the paulson brothers, they shot that 13inch seacoast at night once. VERY IMPRESSIVE!

WELCOME to the board!

Thanks for the info on exploding rounds.   "Camp" McCoy - that dates you, it was a "Fort" back in the early 1980's and somewhat before.

What do you shoot?

I have friends that have a noble foundry 3 inch ordinance rifle, 2 12 pound mountain howizters, Confederate williams guns, and 2 24 pound coehorns up here in Michigan. Tomorrow im headed down to Corunna in Shiawassee county to watch a pal shoot a new 2.25 mountain rifle for the first time. I also have other friends that come up to Grayling Michigan with their artillery and mortars for the match there. I take it you are from tennessee? Have you ever been up to the Camp Grayling shoot here in Michigan?

Also if you are interested i have some pics of this last shoot at grayling of what a 3 inch ordinance rifle round does to a tree at over 1200 yards. I might need a bit of help in figuring out how to add them to this post if you could help

Nice video.  Were they full power exploding shell or spotting charges in the case?

There is a sticky on posting pix.  Read through it and take a shot at it, ask questions if it doesn't work & we'll get you through the learning curve.

I live in Pulaski, Virginia (home town of Casmir Pulaski - who died of wounds in our revolutionary war).  There is a Pulaski, TN which is more famous (or infamous) for being where the KKK was founded.  My only connection with them is when I made references to them in my Terrorism Counteraction Briefings given to the Army Reserve Units here when I was a Provost Marshall.

Camp Grayling - someday.  Have heard about them for years.  Another Mecca to have visited once before I die.  Might be able to do it as I'm just now 60, the Good Lord willing.

Sounds like you've played with some very interesting toys!  Looking forward to the pictures.

What a 3 inch ordinance rifle does to trees at 1200 yards plus. Some of these hits are also from a Parrott rifle

How about i just email you the pics and let you look.
