GG&G Battle Hawk
« on: July 15, 2007, 02:35:22 PM »
just picked up one of these new Battle Hawks from GG&G, WOW!!!!!!!!
It arrived on Friday and the weekend was a great time to play, it wasnt cheap at 260, plus shipping, BUT!!!!!!!
well worth it!!!  tried it out on all sorts of wood, dried mesquite, oak, some 55 gal drums, some sheets of Aluminum that was out behind the shop, this is probably the coolest toy I've picked up in a long time....
in the Rangers we were authorized to carry a hawk, if only Colonel Rogers could see this one!!!!!
www.gggaz.com, the scabbard is cool too you can mount it just about anywhere with the kydex and the rotoclip, nice product, solid S7, cant say enough good things about it....R

boneguru, afraid I would have no use for something like that. I do carry a hawk camping and for spliting a little kindling on the beach for a cookout. Mine is a more traditional design. I've carried it for 25 years or so. Byron

Take a look at the Firestone belt axe from McGowan manufacturing.  I have been using one for several years now.  It is a very well thought out design and so far has been a very durable axe.

Way out of my price range but a good looking hawk none the less.
As hand to hand encounters are getting commonplace in Iraq,
it would be comforting to have one of those stashed away just in case.

kinda flashy looking.  I can see where it might be good in combat, but I prefer a hammer opposite the blade and not a spike.  I think that'd be just as good of a weapon and much more useful around camp.
I'm not sure Colonel Rogers would like that battlehawk or not.
