I agree get some manuals
« on: July 16, 2007, 10:27:00 PM »
I encourage you to get some manuals like the Lyman, Speer, Hornady.  Read them and they'll discuss the differences in powder, primers, cases. and bullets.

Good luck its a great hobby.

I agree. ;D How can you argue with logic like that. Get as many manuals as you can. They are a great reference and they let you dream about cartridges you do not have yet. As I have stated before I really like to reload. It is a great hobby. Always use caution and pay attention to the details and you will have many hours of satisfaction. :D

so this is where my post went. I was trying to answer the guy who was asking about powder differences a few days ago.  Somehow messed up the post and wondered where it went.  Maybe he found it and read it.

Back to my manuals.  Got a new recipe to try.

Yes, get a reloading manual, better yet get 2 or 3! I'm getting back into reloading and my first purchase was Lyman's 48th Edition Reloading Handbook. This book has much more info than recipes. Before the loading data, the handbook has safety info, equipment needed, reloading components info, reloading process, pressure and ballistics info, and firearm care. Good choice for any reloader. I also have the "Lee Shooter" disc which has reloading data from Accurate Arms, Alliant, Hogdon, IMR, and VihaVuori powder manufacturers.

Starting in reloading without a manual is like taking a trip in unfamiliar territory without a map; you may get to your destination but, you may also have some dangerous side trips.
