we are the gun makers of the nation. the government might someday decide to outlaw guns but remember if it wasnt for a few hill billys in 1776  with stolen guns we would be english!! we are the revolutionary arm of the future, i know we have a wonderful nation. nad i am proud to be an american. but never stop holding your values close to you and never give in to a nation that is not by the people for the people.

Actually the hillbillies with stolen guns, were Massachusetts  towns people with illegal caches of arms for their militia to protect them from Indians.   And it wasn't 1776, but April 1774 at Lexington and Concord.     

The leaders who voted for Independence in July 1776, were elitists and business men who had their fill of paying taxes on luxuries like newspapers, glass and tea.  Items that true frontiersmen and working stiffs had no money for.  Remember that less than a third of the citizens were actually in favor of Independence and nearly a third supported the Crown.  Roving militias of Patriots and Tories would attack each other and burn each other's homes.  Some areas were much more supportive of the Crown than others.      That the Patriots won at all was as much due to the sacrifice of a few as it was due to the comedic errors of the leaders.  For instance, when Washington crossed the Delaware on Christmas Eve to attacjk Trenton, NJ. a tory farmer spotted the rebels and road to warn the Hessian leader.  The Hessian was too busy playing cards to recieve the information about the impending attack and he actually ordered that the information be written in a note, which he stuck in his pocket without reading.  It was still in his pocket after the Hessian defeat.  Can we hear a loud Homer Simpson "Doh!" for the Commander of the Hessians.     When Washington retreated from NY, his retreat would have been stopped and annihilated by the British, but for a fortuitous fog that rolled in and covered the retreat.    At Valley Forge, the troops got to be such thieves of food and livestock from neighboring farmers that they requested the British come out and remove them.  One soldier was actually shot while stealing a chicken.     Several hundred ferguson breechloading flint lock rifles were shipped to the British in New Jersey.  They allowed up to 10 shots per minute, far outshadowing Patriot firepower.  The British General considered them "ungentlemanly" and consigned them to a warehouse and never issued them.      In fact Patriot militias in NJ tried to leave when their enlistment was up and the Patriot General in charge blocked them.  The Officers of the Militia, incited their men to leave, saying if this is the type of democracy we are fighting for then lets have none of it.  The militia was surrounded and then forced to form firing squads to shoot their own mutinous officers.  (Kind of put a crimp on failure to re-enlist.)   

Our American Revolution is replete with such events.  Their were brave and heroic feats also.  Daniel Morgan's March to Saratoga from Virginia.  Tim Murphy's shot killing the British General,  Francis Marion's guerilla war against Tarleton's oppressive reign in the South.    The Over the Mountain men's defeat of Ferguson, the British Regulars and the Tory militia in the Carolinas.  (Due in Part to Ferguson's lack of understanding ballistics of shooting down hill.)   British volleys constantly went 2 to 4  ft over the heads of the Patriots. 

The time is coming that big city liberals, anti-hunters and ambivalence will out number the true Americans.   When that time comes, only those with the knowledge to create their own defense will have a chance against government oppression. 

The societal leeches will soon run everything and take the wealth from those upon whose toil the economy actually floats.   At that point, there will be no difference between America and Communism.  It is already happening.  cries about how the rich don't pay their fair share, cries about how entitlement programs don't provide a standard of living.  Muti-million dollar pay outs to those who lost family members on 9-11, in addition to worker's comp and all the other benefits and insurances.  In my neighborhood, Folks on social security disability number 30% of the number folks who actually work.  All the "Gimmie-Gimmies"  are assaulting our National treasury and wealth, weakening us immeasurably.  Other countries are fast appraoching and surpassing our standard of living.   

Those who pay the freight should have the vote on how it is spent and the rest be damned.   Whether the "Gimmie-Gimmies" are Unions, farmers, fat cats, malingering sobs, or welfare mommas.  This country was originally a country run by those who paid taxes.  That is as it should be.  Every time I hear any politician rant about how rich people should pay their fair share, I say well then let poor folk pay the same 20 to 28% of their income.  This government should be worried about turning folks into tax payers, not seeing how it can hand out more benefits to buy the votes of leeches and scum.

It is high time that stupidity and sloth were made crimes.  Education, initiative and hard work should be rewarded and held in high esteem.    I'd rather pay students for grades, than welfare mommas to produce more delinquents.

the question is,
  where will the new revolution  start, what will be the final straw that breaks the camels back??
    what will push the nation over the edge to decide that it is time for the government works for the nation. not the government controles the nation.   last two elections where not won by popular vote. but by electoral vote, i believe.      what must we do to change this??    I am a grandson of the revolution. i am a son of the confederacy.  I love my home,, Virginia.    but united states?? united is not a word i would use to decribe our country. followers yes, lied to YES.   
               i dont care about republicans or democrats. i just want a nation that is loved and respected by its people for the good they do and not respected out of fear!!!!!. of what they will do to us.

My great great " " " " grandfather was a member of a Patriot militia from Berks County PA, in the revolution.  He lost a great grandson to starvation at Andersonville.  Another at Gettysburg.  Other Ancestors served in Cuba.  In France in WW1 and several uncles in WW2.  Cousins in Korea (one died there)  Some served in Nam.   I do volunteer work for families of servicemen and women. 

I am tired of the way this country is headed.

The commies are taking over from within.   Whats yours is everyone's.  What you work for must be shared with those who don't work.  You must care for the self inflicted sick, drug addicts, drunks and malingerers.  You owe them a living equal to your own.  You must buy the groceries for the woman and three kids who live with the father that makes as much as you because they are not married.  The rich old lady that gave everything to her kids, must be cared for at tax payer expense in a home for the elderly. 

Have you ever noticed, the Declaration of Independence is not the law of the United States.  No gov't official wants the public to actually read what it says.  That when a gov't ceases to be responsive to the needs of the people, the people have the right to establish a new government.  Jefferson wrote Life liberty and the pursuit of "property" in the original draft, the congress changed it to pursuit of happiness.)   

The reason for the electoral college was to prevent popular vote from prevailing lopsidedly.    It was to prevent heavy votes in one region of the country from carrying the elections, without regard for the votes in the rest of the country.  Kind of a check and balance between South and North, East and West, city and country.

  It is not..., the straw is constantly breaking..., but the rev wont come. Society is complacent.

Me too.  Yea I am despondent with alot. 

The reason a Rev wont happen anytime soon is because a Rev like ours has never happened anywhere at any time ., like it did here. The United States and its Revolution is very special .
Here is a short read for all of you on just who some of these people were...., and these people aren't coming back.., they were very special.

THE 4TH OF JULY

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men

who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,

and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;

another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or

hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes,

and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants,

nine were farmers and large plantation owners;

men of means, well educated,

but they signed the Declaration of Independence

knowing full well that the penalty would be death if

they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and

trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the

British Navy. He sold his home and properties to
pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British

that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.

He served in the Congress without pay, and his family

was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,

and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer,

Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that

the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson

home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General

George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed,

and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.

The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying.

Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill

were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests

and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his

children vanished. Some of us take these liberties so much for

granted, but we shouldn't.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and
silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid.

Remember: freedom is never free!

I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many

people as you can, please. It's time we get the word out that patriotism

is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer,

picnics, and baseball games
