Which screwdriver set?

Can anyone suggest a good, mid range screwdriver set for basic gun repair.

I don't know about where these fall in the price range but out of all the ones I have I like the Bonanza ones I have the best. Good fit and finish, blades fit nicely and are good and square tips.

I don't know about any others so can't comment, as all I've used for many years came from Brownells. They work great and sets are available but it been too long for any advice from me on that. The only bit I've ever damaged was a thin bit and I was doing really bad things with it.. It survived but required replacement.. I've also found the power screwdriver bits sold at WaLMart with the crossing lines at the bottom are very tough. They can be rough on the screw slots but if working with a rusted busted junker they will bite and twist out the offending fastener!! Also my arthritis is quite painful and I found an articulated driver at Sears that works wonders. This is a ratchet screw driver but the handle folds to 90 degrees from the blade holder and provides tremendous leverage without hurting my joints. It has proven tough as nails and gets used a lot. It also is not cheap but is worth every dime. If there's one thing to get the best of when gunsmithing it has to be the screw drivers.. A buggered screw is always a catastrophy!!

I have used different gunsmithing screwdrivers for 40 years. The best I have used lately is the Wheeler Engineering set. This one has everything you need. Bought it at Midway USA. It's also on sale right now. Try it, you'll like it.

I also use the large Wheeler engineering set and always have a bit that fits the screw perfectly. I would highly recommend it.

I've used the Brownell set for years. They have several different sets for most price ranges. I have a Wheeler set, too, but I think the Brownells are slightly higher in quality.

I started out originally with two of the Chapman sets with slightly different bits in each and added numerous other bits at gunshows as a Chapman dealer usually sets up a table there. I then picked up the Brownell's set and it is now what I primarily use. But I also have the Wheeler set that rides in my shotgun box when I go skeet shooting. In addition I have a full set of the screw drivers made I think by Forster each has the wood handle that used to long ago be sold as "gunsmith screwdrivers". I'm kinda well stocked on gunsmithing screwdrivers.
