New barrel not locking up?
« on: July 18, 2007, 06:53:46 AM »
Just got a new Pro Hunter barrel, it doesn't lock on one of my frames, will lock on one of the others, but won't cock. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jim

Is the serial number on your frame <195,000?

I have a 4 digit, 5 digit, and 6 digit 9 (220xxx), this barrel won't lock on any of them, would be pretty easy to call T/C, I guess.

Locking lug split or solid?

If you have a new Pro Hunter barrel with a solid one piece lug, I would definately call TC. I think they would be very interested.  Walt

I'd probably call TC.  Sounds like the barrel is defective.

Decided to try all the frames again, finally found one that would lock and cock. Shot it Sun., got 2 1" groups with junk ammo I had, so far looks to be a shooter, not much recoil. Maybe T/C is doing a better job on quality control with the Pro Hunter line?

Tried the other frames after shooting, now they all lock and cock. Maybe a rough spot on the lugs go "shot off". Anyway, problem solved!
