Ruger super blackhawk barrel length

I am about to buy a super black hawk in 44 mag, and was wondering if anyone has an opinion as to any advantage of the 10 inch barrel over the 7 1/2 inch. If the difference was really worth the extra length inconvenience.

I've carried a Contender with a 10" and a 14" barrel in the field, and the extra length does get in the way sometimes. I guess 10" isn't that bad .
