Savage Model 111 7mm Remington Magnum
« on: June 02, 2003, 05:09:53 AM »
Anyone have any reviews somewhere or opinions on this rifle?
A friend got a really smoking deal on it, and I'm thinking about buying it.

Thanks

ccanevit,

Savages are usually a good sound rifle.  Some say they're ugly but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  I will say that some of the most accurate, out of the box rifles I've seen in the last ten years were Savages.  If the price is right and you like the rifle go for it and don't look back.  The 7mm mag. will do for anything you're likely to run into unless your hunting the BIG BEARS or other dangerous game.  Lawdog

I have to agree.  I must say that I think that the quality of Savages is sub par, especially when you work the bolt, but there is no denying their accuracy.  It's kinda hard for me to try explain how a gun with less than stellar quality and workmanship can shoot so dang well.
