Yes; It appears that some in congress want to give the terrorists a free pass to commit mayhem..

According to Fox News..there was legislation working it's way through Congress that was variously called "good Samaritan" or "whistleblower" legislation.
It was designed for such cases as the airline passengers who warned the pilot about the strange conduct of the several Imams that were acting suspiciously .

It was written to protect the alert citizens from lawsuits that may be launched against them for being vigilant...

The Democrats shot the legislatuion down...

I sincerely hope no such attacks occur..but it would be poetic justice if such an attack did occurred..that it would at least strike close to home with these "hate America first" guys..

Al Queda must be watching the antics of our "politically correct" and "hate America first" lawmakers...and then go laughing all the way to their caves..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Ditto!  I'm sure the 2008 election can't get here soon enough for them.  However, as expected, the democrats elected recently to become the majority in Congress still can't get anything done.  I hope the rest of the country remembers that when it comes time to vote.

Had a friend of mine tell me that after the Dims took over the Congress that the enemy had made a tape thanking us Americans for having elected them.  Now, I did not see this myself so I can't vouch for any truth in this but if it IS true, then anyone with a modicum of intelligence ought to see the writing on the wall about which party the enemy prefers in office.  Did anyone happen to see what this friend of mine said he saw?  This fellow hasn't been one to fabricate stories in the past so I'm inclined to believe him.
Aside from that, I was talking to my son today and he isn't at all politically minded, just doesn't pay a lot of attention to it.  He's young.  My point is that even he, as far removed from politics as he is, made the statement that he can see the socialism in todays Democratic party.  The Democrat of today is not the same as the Democrat of thirty years ago. These that are in Congress today are too consumed with pandering to their bases.  Also, they are far too engrossed in being at war with our president and his political party than to do what is right for this country.  The enemy knows that to divide and conquer is the way to go.   All the Democrats are doing is just playing into their hands.  They so desperately want to put someone from their party in the White House that they are willing to compromise the integrity of this country.  Fred Thompson is getting my vote.

308 Win.  ya'll said " he can see the socialism in todays Democratic party.  The Democrat of today is not the same as the Democrat of thirty years ago."

How true!  The dumbocrat of 30 years ago was a flippin' commie.  What they have tried to hide over the years is that commie = socialist = liberal = leftist = anti individual rights = anti gun = anti Constitution = anti freedoms.  Unfortunately, kids today either don't think socialism is all that bad or know what it really means.  JMTCW.  Mikey.

TM7, I think you've hit a new high in generalization.  It's sadly true that if left to their own devices, the Republicans will bring us socialism but it will take them a little bit longer than the Dumbycrats.  Oh, oh, there I go generalizing too.

It all follows the well known truism about democracy; the people will always vote themselves more and more goodies until eventually socialism is the result.  Obviously, the majority of voters in this country have chosen that course and I think it is a real shame.

Well I would certainly agree with the statement in your post that I have highlighted, and we could go back 40 years if you wish. Viet Nam was the issue then, and the Republican was doing EXACTLY "THEN" what the DEMOCRAT IS DOING "NOW".
But then again the REPUBLICAN IS DOING "NOW" what the DEMOCRAT WAS DOING "THEN".
The sad truth in all of this IS, that the government "AFTER 911" attacked a country that had NOTHING TO DO WITH 911. This country lost 3000 folks on 911, and we have now LOST 3500 GOOD AMERICANS, AND COUNTING, in a country that DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN 911. AND although 70+% of the American people have FINALLY SEEN THRU THE FACADE, a small percentage are STILL cheering for a GOVERNMENTAL "MISTAKE" ,that like Viet Nam, is costing young American lives. This "NATION BUILDING" government with their PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE POLICY, should along with ALL IT'S BACKERS, PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTUAL "FIGHTING AND DIEING" rather than the TALKING AND CHEERING for an OBVIOUS MISTAKE, in a country that has know use for the American and his Democracy. EVEN ENGLAND is pulling out all but less than 2,000 troops and was doing so BEFORE Tony Blair RESIGNED. I am neither Democrat or Republican, as I consider myself a LOOSERTARIAN. I will NOT vote for the LESSOR OF TWO EVILS, because either way all you get is EVIL.
The Republican DID THE RIGHT THING, in getting us out of Viet Nam after 53,000 deaths of American soldiers, WITH THAT DEATH RATE AS THEIR (the government's) "ONLY" ACCOMPLISHMENT, and this war in Iraq, a country of Muslim heathens, will accomplish no more than was accomplished in Viet Nam. They, like the Vietnamese people, are not interested in DEMOCRACY, and their RELIGION WILL NOT SUPPORT such a government, and their ELECTED GOVERNMENT IS "PROVING THIS TO BE TRUE DAILEY". That has become BLATANTLY APPARENT to all but a few hangers on, at the expense of the American Patriot Soldier, just as it was in Viet Nam, whom we now TRADE WITH. All that blood, and for NOTHING. :( >:(

Comparing Iraq to Vietnam is a fruitless effort at best.  And it wasn't the Republicans that were the main force for getting us out of Vietnam.  One of the prime movers in that regard was a Democrat Senator from Oregon and disgraceful jerks like John Effing Kerry.

I will state flat out that I did not favor our involvement in Vietnam and I don't favor our involvement in Iraq.  Not in the way that we were and are.  In fact, I don't favor us getting into any protracted military engagement anywhere with ground troops.  Wars are won by killing people and destroying stuff.  Wars should be fought with the most efficient means of accomplishing both of those requisites.  The Air Force and/or the Navy could have finished both of these wars before most Americans even knew what was going on.

Now, that said, the reasons we are in Iraq are not easily dismissed as "mistakes", or because we are there for the oil, or lies etc.  I still remember the very real fear that Iraq had a secret nuclear weapons program and all the politicians warning that we absolutely couldn't allow that to go on.  I also remember that Saddam refused to account for WMDs that he was forbidden to have by the U.N. and the ceaserfire agreement from Desert Storm.  The loudest of the voices that demanded our involvement in Iraq were Dumbycrats like Slick Willy, Algore, Rockafellor, the swimmer (Ted Kennedy) and on and on.  On three occasions, after various events in Iraq, Slick Willy commented in front of TV cameras that we were justified for being there and that he thought Bush was doing the right thing.  His better half completely concurred.  Now, if the most brilliant President we've ever had and the smartest woman in the world thought we should be there, who are we mortals to question it?

Heard an analysis on TV today..said that it was just most of the Demonrats trying to pander to their "looney left" base..

It does seem that by taking a chance at getting a couple hundred (or more) fellow Americans killed..is an expensive form of "pandering"..

..But then, like the Marxists before them...who cares if a couple hundred (or thousands) of "peasants" die..if  it means the proletariat can shake off their chains..

Curiously, in every case of Marxism/Communism, where the "proletariat" has taken over..in a very few years ..they become the new elite, and are soon the equal opportunity oppressors..

I believe Nixon (a republican) was the one that finally got us out. It is amazing that some IGNORE the turning of the republican side of congress toward getting us out of Iraq. And while we're on Desert Storm a republican was president, and he did not finish the job he started. That is why it lasted thru the Klinton years. He inherited it from a republican.
And the caparison of Iraq to Viet Nam when taken in PROPER CONTEXT, is a very good one. Neither war promises ANY GAIN, of either freedom for the Vietnamese or the Iraqi. NEITHER WANTED FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY. It in both cases was, and is a D.C. PIPE DREAM, that in one case cost 53,000 American lives, with nothing to show for, and the second ON GOING ONE, 3,500+ and counting, and LIKE VIET NAM, THOUSANDS OF CIVILIAN LIVES AND COUNTING.
Washington NEVER accepts the blame for mistakes, and ALWAYS blames someone else, as in this case, the CIA, and other agencies. Then they start the PROPAGANDA MILL, and start cranking out REASONS why it wasn't like they thought it was, and that seems to make everyone happy, except the country that was invaded and turned UPSIDE DOWN, WITH THOUSANDS OF CIVILIAN CASUALITIES, and the FAMILIES THAT LOST SOLDIERS AND FAMILY MEMEBERS. KAY SA RA SA RA.
No accountablility for the D.C. warlords, just business as usual.

TM7 and Dee, you two fellas ought to run for Congress with all of your knowledge and experience.  I can't vote for ya, but I'd love to see you debate with the know nothing conspirorists that are occupying the seats of power.

I am curious who we should declare war on within our own country and what branch of service should lead the attack.  Although the Dumbycrats don't have much respect for the Constitution and their ideas about liberty are somewhat different than mine, I just chalk that up to difference of opinion.  I'm not ready to kill people and destroy things over that.  But I do think it is worth engaging an enemy who is bent on attacking us and our allies and friends.  Oh, I know that Saddam, as far as we know, didn't have anything to do with 9/11, but if anyone thinks that we wouldn't sooner, or later have had to deal with him, or his really bad sons, you're kidding yourselves.  It was better to take them on when we did, before they got better prepared.  Iraq was a very real problem, whether, or not they had anything to do with al Qaeda and I am very happy that Saddam and his offspring are gone.

It's always easy to look back with perfect 20/20 hindsight and judge the action of our leaders if you don't like what they've done, but I try to remember the enormous pressure they faced to do something--even if it's wrong.  I give all of them--even Dumbycrats--enough of the benefit of doubt that they did what they thought was best for our safety, liberty and way-of-life, with the information and conditions that existed at the time.

Hind sight is truly 20-20, and that is why GOD gave it to us. So that we wouldn't make the same mistake TWICE. I taught my son's that it is not a crime to make a mistake, but the WORST mistake is to know that you made one and not do anything about it. Being pressured by the people to "do something" after 911 is not an excuse to go attack the first country that comes to mind, on a flimsy excuse of what they MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT HAVE, OR DO WITH IT, "IF" THEY DO HAVE IT. ::)
I do not buy into TM7's conspiracy theories MOST of the time and he knows that, but this is not CONSPIRICY THEORIES we are talking about. We are talking about MISTAKES MADE, AND MEN (OURS) DYING ON A DAILEY BASIS FOR THEM.
If a SERIOUS THREAT is what you really need then let's talk about CHINA, IRAN, RUSSIA, and so on.
You sir, are in the MINORITY here in the U.S. and the WORLD, on this MISTAKE in IRAQ. Soldiers are "WISELY" NOT RE-ENLISTING, young men are "WISELY" NOT JOINING, the military. Our "FRIENDS" (and we have very few) SUCH AS "ENGLAND" ARE WITHDRAWING THEIR TROUPS, and yes magooch the REPUBLICANS are starting to "FALL AWAY" from the Iraq War. It is HONORABLE to fight for a JUST CAUSE, and a MISTAKE to fight for, "A MISTAKE".
Had Lyndon Johnson LISTENED to his intelligence, he would have pulled the troops OUT of Viet Nam years before they were, and according to GOVERNMENT documents, the CASUALITY LIST would have been "HALF" of the 53,000 lost in that war. That's about 26,500 men that would NOT HAVE HAD TO DIE FOR A "MISTAKE". This information was on national TV not long ago, and the same MENTALITY was "ATTRIBUTED" to today's sitting powers in D.C..
As far as the DOWN-PLAY, you give on the Democrats not having much respect for the Constitution, and their having SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT IDEAS ABOUT LIBERTY than yours, as "JUST A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION", I would DARE SAY, you had better get your PRIORITIES STRAIGHT, as that DIFFERENCE OF OPINION THEY HAVE, may end up COSTING YOU YOUR FREEDOM.
And as far as myself running for congress, well I recognize sarcasm when I see it, so no I won't be running, but, I would RECOMMEND to the Congressmen and the President, to MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS and STAY OUT OF OTHER COUNTRIES POLOTICS, and STOP TRYING TO RUN AMERICANISM DOWN COUNTRIES THROATS THAT DON'T WANT IT. Of course we already know that they would not listen, because they are smarter that us. That's why over 70% of our population, almost ALL of the world is against the war. I suppose you are smarter too, as you fall into that minority group.
In scripture God tells us to "WEIGH EVERY WORD" taught and preached by the teachers and preachers of the WORD, to ensure that they are teaching and preaching CORRECTLY.
I hardly think that WEIGHING EVERY WORD AND ACTION put out by a government that decides life and death for our youth would be ANYTHING OTHER THAN "RESPONSIBLE". ;) I SIR, WILL NOT GIVE ANYONE THE "BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT" FOR "5 YEARS", WHEN MEN ARE DYING FOR AN "OBVIOUS" AND BY THE WAY, "ADMITTED" MISTAKE.

The mistake, in hindsight was not in taking down Saddam's regime, it was how we did it.  We should have reduced the place to a pile of ruble and got it done with.  Apparently there are still a lot of people who believe that we are doing the right thing in Iraq, especially our great soldiers, who are all volunteers.

It's easy to claim that 70% of the people want us out of Iraq--heck, I think just about 100% of Americans would like to be out of there, but ask the question, do you want us to leave the place to the terrorists, so they will have a base with enormous resources to finance and support their scourge on the earth?  I think the polling results would be somewhat different.

I assure you that my priorities are very straight when it comes to what I know are the Dumbycrat's intentions, but I'm not going to declare war on them and take them out over a difference of philosophy.  I'm just going to have to hope that the majority of voters will not allow us to slide into the dung heap that the lefties are pushing us into.

Once again you have SIDE STEPPED the FACT that RECRUITING is at an ALL TIME LOW, the induction age has been moved to 43 years old trying to get VOLUNTEERS, GOOD SOLDIERS are not re-enlisting, and GROUND TROOP MORAL is low. I talked to my son day before yesterday for the first time in 2 months. He is on the ground in Baghdad, OUTSIDE THE WIRE, and his story is FAR different from that which you believe.
THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ WANT US TO LEAVE. THEY ARE GETTING KILLED FOR COOPERATING WITH U.S. TROOPS. Many families have lost "ALL" THEIR MEN SINCE WE GOT THERE. When little boys hit the age of about 10 yoa, they are killed by opposing TRIBES as they are hitting what is considered there as FIGHTING AGE. This is not insurgency. This is TRIBAL WAR FARE. CIVIL WAR is talked about CONSTANTLY on the NEWS, and it is amazing that AMERICANS CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT, and continue ally tout the war. This WAS NOT happening BEFORE we INVADED for a "MAYBE HE MIGHT" POSSIBLY "SOMETIME" DO SOMETHING.
Once again I state a fact! Our ALLIES ARE PULLING OUT! THE WORLD DISAGREES WITH YOU AND GW. OVER 70% of Americans WANT OUT. Is it possible that an OVER-WHELMING MAJORITY OF THE WORLD (including Americans) see the TRUTH and you and GW have missed something? Presidents and their rabid backers have been wrong before. Will you and everyone like you, feel better when the U.S. troop casualty lists reaches 52,000? Will that make you feel better? My mother used to tell me when I was a kid, that if you found yourself in a hole. STOP DIGGING! We have a president that is trying to SAVE FACE, and while he's doing it, our men are dying. Not one soldier volunteered for a FARC. They trusted the government, and are ALSO REALIZING THE TRUTH. Some are not even being allowed to leave the military when their time is up. They are being called back, because of BAD recruiting numbers. ::)

Getting back to the original thread; The folks that want terrorists that are doing a "dry run" on our airlines  or anywhere else are the same ones that don't want the CIA or FBI listening in on calls from overseas terrorists.
The same ones that want the fiends at Gitmo..to have all the rights accorded a normal American citizen...the same ones that don't want the Bible in schools or prisons ; but insisted that our taxes pay for Korans for those low-lifes in Gitmo.
The same ones that want to pretend that a 93 year old Granny from the midwest is just as big a threat as a Muslim male 18-38 that just dfinished jihadist school in Baghdad .

es; we're supposed to "play stupid" and not profile the killers..

When we get hit again (only a matter of time)..we know just who is mostly to blame.

Well ironglow, on another thread in this forum, you have some DEFENDING THE LAWYERS that make us CONFORM to some these idiotic ideas and proceedures, and truthfully they are government regs. according to the wonderful PATRIOT ACT, which is about as UNPATRIOTIC as it gets, and no one has shut down our OPEN BORDERS YET either. So I suspect all this FLUFF about terrorists is just that. If the government were SERIOUS about protecting you from terrorists, the border issue would long since be resolved. Instead we are spending our money and spilling our blood in Iraq, and denying that the killing over there is a CIVIL WAR.
My son whom is OUTSIDE THE WIRE verifies this, as it is Iraqi killing Iraqi. :o

Whether or not the violence in Iraq has morphed into a "civil war", or is being exacerbated by al Qaeda and the Iranians, it doesn't change the fact that we would be leaving a rats nest that would bite us again and again if we leave before there is a chance that the Iraqi government--such as it is--can assert some kind of control.

My preference would be to pull our people back and let the violence rain down on that snake pit until those who remain are sick and tired of it, or all dead.  Then we could bull dose the ruble, commandeer the oil and get on with it.  That, of course, wouldn't be PC, so there you go.

You know, all this bantering back and forth, the argumentation between those posting here, is an illustration of how divided we are as a nation. WHY we are there doesn't matter anymore, we are there nonetheless.  So, rather than to cry over why we shouldn't be there, because it is a fruitless thing to do so, should we not as a nation first decide if we truly want to try and win this war and if so, use our collective intelligence as to the best way to accomplish the goal?  If we citizens wrote our Congressmen/women with helpful ideas instead of leaving everything up to the few politicians we have who are supposed to be representing us, maybe we could facilitate a victorious end to this thing. I mean REALLY MAKE SOME NOISE!!!  Be proactive in your contact with your representatives.  Do something instead of griping about it for long periods of time. The dog that barks the loudest usually gets the bone.  No one here has the bone to give.  Call and write those who do.  Even if nothing happens, you made a concerted effort to do what was in your power to do.  Dee, tell your son I appreciate his service.

308 Win., I'm pretty sure you don't know who my Congressman and Senators are, but if you did, you'd know why I don't waste my time writing to these dolts.  On most issues, they make a San Francisco liberal look like a piker.  These people are rabid, raving socialists, who think that President Bush is the Devil himself.

Everything that you say would apply to a war that was being fought under normal circumstances of say, an OPPRESSOR. However, this "war" has "EVOLVED" into a "CIVIL WAR" fought by Iraqi "AGAINST" Iraqi. THIS is a "FACT" acknowledged by the WORLD, but not by some AMERICANS. They are killing "EACH OTHER" for TERRITORY, HOUSING, and because one may be a SUNI, and the other a SHEITE. To "WIN" this war the U.S. would have to have "COMPLETE COOPERATION" from the POPULACE AND THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAQ, UNITED AS "ONE BODY". The U.S. has NEITHER. THEIR GOVERNMENT WANTS TO GO ON VACATIONS, WHEN THE COUNTRY IS IN CRISIS, AND THE PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING OVER TERRITORY.
A "CIVIL WAR" is won when the OPPOSING SIDES decide either a VICTOR or a COMPROMISE. HISTORY has proven this fact out over HUNDREDS OF YEARS and HUNDREDS of CIVIL WARS. The U.S. SOLDIER, is CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE, with an UNIDENTIFIABLE TARGET just as they were in Viet Nam.
This war has nothing to do with MANPOWER, ARMAMENT, and WILLINGNESS, on the part of the U.S.  IT MUST BE FOUGHT OUT by the "PEOPLE" LIVING THERE IN IRAQ, not an IDEALISTIC government from another country.
DEMONSTATIONS AND COMPLAINING ARE "EXACTLY" WHAT GOT THE GOVERNMENT TO MOVE ON VIET NAM. AND AS THERE WERE "THEN" A FEW "HARD CORE" HANGERS ON WERE SUPPORTING THE VIET NAM WAR and for a time I WAS ONE OF THEM. As history has PROVEN however, these HARDCORE HANGERS ON, were WRONG.
Gentlemen this can be called whining but, it is not. This information is from PUBLISHED fact on the news media EVERYDAY, and from friends and relatives whom have BEEN THERE, and ARE THERE NOW. HISTORY IS being repeated, and this movement NEEDS to progress as the government looks at ALL of us, as nothing more than a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER that means CASH FLOW, to them. They are attempting to make a SILK PURSE OUT OF A SOW'S EAR to save face in Washington, at our son's and daughter's, and their families expense, while some here in the U.S. ignore the WORLD and a majority of their OWN FELLOW AMERICANS, and continue to follow the government BLINDLY.

Muslims everywhere have been fighting among themselves for those very reasons forever and will be still doing so 500 years after everyone alive today is long dead. They hate each other as much as they hate us and the ONLY time they can or will stop killing each other is for a short time to concentrate on killing us.

The only way I see to deal with such vermin is to let them kill each other as long as they will and when they try to turn on us to wipe them out in masse, just exterminate the whole damn bunch of them in any area giving aid and comfort to those who attack us. That is the ONLY thing they understand and fear. They respect nothing and no one.

TM7 I am separating myself from such things as your belief in the trade centers being demoed rather that what I saw on TV at the time of the event, ect. We were being lumped together, and I don't for the most part see things as you do. I am not condemning you for your beliefs, I just don't happen to agree with most of them. I for one BELIEVE the the Muslim is the second greatest threat to our society today. The first, being a BLIND government that has put itself up as RIGHTEOUS above all others, and is in fact IGNORING OUR VOICE. This is not a conspiracy as you seem to think but an obvious (by their actions) belief of them by their behavior. I think our ONLY major problem is that WE have let someone else run our business, and they have run it into the ground. I put no stock in conspiracy theories, only in what makes sense.
We will agree that the poor man has always BLINDLY fought the rich man's wars for him, and men have not changed over the centuries. That the government LIED concerning the Iraq war is a fact and not a conspiracy. The truth has been revealed but, until THIS country UNITES to this fact COMPLETELY it will remain a lie that is costing young men their lives.
If one will operate with the obvious evidence then the need for theory vanishes. An example, is all the 911 terrorists were identified as mostly Saudis, then Jordanians, 1 or 2 Egyptians, trained in Afghanistan, economically sponsored by Saudi Arabia. Iraq was not involved in any way. There is no mystery or conspiracy here. There is hard evidence however. Hard evidence that the government AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ignored, and with the government deception, the PEOPLE bought into the Iraqi thing, and are STILL holding on to it for dear lives, believing that they are Patriotic for it, when in fact they cannot turn loose of a PROVEN lie, but instead continue to try and justify it when it makes no sense. An "exposed" lie seldom if ever continues to make sense. But the truth is now out is it not?

GRAYBEARD. Agreed 110%. Tm7, the driving force behind all of the chaos and murder is, was, and always will be, ISLAM. It is a terrible cancer that must be dealt with before they attain their goal of world domination. Folks need to forget about country of origin and state or national boundaries and understand that  the enemy that we are fighting has no home, nationality, or boundaries. It is a cult  of hatred and death devised by satan himself and implemented by mohamed thousands of years ago. The cult survives by teaching hatred and death from birth. They hate feeedom and education. They want their people kept uneducated and ignorant, easier to sway and control that way. The murders of the Amish children last year saturated the news media, but my 2 neices knew nothing about the murders. They are not allowed to read the paper, listen to any newscasts, or tv news, forbidden by their worthless, Godless husbands. There is no leaving the Godless ones alone, Israel has tried that for years, it doesn't work. I look forward to the day when Israel tells the world to go to hell and reclaims all of the lands that God gave her. Maybe someday the world will come to understand that islam is the common denominator for most of the worlds troubles. Islam is a fast growing cancer, a boil on the butt of the entire world, the sooner the world sees this, the better off we'll all be. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

You guys get my blood stirred up.   Don't mean to butt-in, but in short, it is because of Islam, not ISRAEL, that the whole world will be drawn to the last battle, and it's going to be nasty.    Then, a man will be as hard to find as an Ivory Billed Woodpecker is in Arkansas.

TM7 it will NEVER BE KNOWN, whom all was actually involved in the hijackings as the participants on the planes were either incinerated in the fire, or ground up in the building collapses. But, to compare Islam with Nazi Germany ect., in my opinion is a FAR UNDER-ESTIMATION. Islam is WORLD WIDE, and the fastest growing religion in the WORLD. We in REALITY cannot save the world from Islam, but, perhaps if we stopped trying to, we could save ourselves from it.
What I believe I saw on 911, is metal getting soft (not melting) and bending causing two structures to fall. No government cover up. AND, what I see, is a RUNNAWAY government hell bent on a NEW POLICY OF PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKES against other nations, on what they MIGHT or COULD do if they were so of a mind to. It is nation building on steroids. But it is not new to the U.S. government. Noriega of Panama, and Hussein of Iraq, both trained at the SCHOOL OF AMERICAS, in Ft. Benning, Ga. at the American tax payer expense. They just got too big for their britches, and stopped doing business with us, and the white house got mad.
That is not conspiracy, it is public record.

Ever notice that we fail to enlist the real war-winning weapons that we have?  I guess we must be too soft and politically correct.  And yup, I did enlist nearly half a century ago and I'd do it again if they'd let me push the button.
