Rechamber 9MM Speed-6 to 38 Super?
« on: July 22, 2007, 05:25:02 PM »
I've been thinking about having my 4" 9MM Speed-6 re-chambered for 38 Super, bad idea or what?

instead doing that to a fine and somewhat rare revolver just trade it in for a 357 magnum

How rare is the 9MM Speed 6? Btw, I've got lots of 1/3, 1/2 and about 20 full moon clips for it. It's also got a set of Pachmayr compac grips on it with Bullseye hammer and trigger springs installed.

I agree with the others. It may be worth more than you think to a ruger collector. Personally I have never seen one. If you want to sell, post it in the classifieds and see what happens. I would be interested myself.   KN

I'll seriously consider posting it for sale, just give me a bit of time to get used to the idea  ;)
BTW, it's 99% condition, the only minor wear is on the cylinder from rotation and on the sides of the hammer. Aside from these, it looks like it just came from the factory. From the description, could you give me a ROUGH guess on how much I could get for it? Also got lots of 1/3, 1/2 and about 20 full moon clips for it.

OOPS, I guess I forgot a few items. Ruger 9MM Speed 6, blued (99%, slight wear on cylinder/hammer), 4" barrel, old Win. USA 9mm box FULL of half moon clips, 21 full moon clips, lots of 1/3 moon (2 round) clips, factory box (no shipper), Bullseye hammer/trigger springs installed (factory springs in box), no byrilium pin for hammer strut, Pachmayr compac grips installed(no factory round butt wood grips),  no manual.
