Rem Genesis scope solution
« on: July 23, 2007, 11:07:04 AM »
Had my smith tap a set of new holes for me so I could mount the base forward of the foremost existing base hole.I mounted an extended relief 2x scope forward enough so the breech can rotate open without making contact with the scope tube. This "semi-scout" scope location will allow the use of low profile mounts and makes access to the hammer and rotating breech a breeze.Has anyone else tried this?Hope to get it sighted in in the next two weeks ill post more pics then.

I masked off the areas i wanted to remain black and then sprayed several coats of Duracoat bedliner(after wet sanding),I let that setup for 2 days in the sun and then used Krylon Cammo SP to do the "sandstorm" color combo(khaki and brown). Then remove the masking tape and your done. Here is a close up pic of the texture you can get with the duracoat by spraying in the heat and keeping the can WAY back from the stock.

I love the texture i get this way,the whole stock feels like a piece of that grip tape you put on running boards ect.
