cabin4,

I've got one of these with the 20" barrel and safety.  It shoots great.  The 454 hot loads will really kick your butt though.  I was really surprised the first time I shot it.  45 Colts are much easier to handle.  I am a big guy and not really recoil sensitive but it whacks you pretty hard even with the soft factory pad.  These Rossi's are quality guns.  I also have the older model 357 with the 16" barrel and I love it.  I recommend getting one or more of both!  The are really fun guns and great for our Texas feral hogs.

Thanks for the feed back Blowtorch. Does anyone have any ballistics data on 454 factory loads out of these Puma lever guns?

I am very satisfied with my Puma 92, .454 Casull, with 16" bbl.  It groups 1.9" @ 100 yds even though I haven't worked up a best load yet.

It works and shoots great with .454 Casull.  It doesn't feed .45LC very well unless the load has a long OAL.  That's OK since I don't and won't fire .45LC from mine anymore

The 16 inch barrel adds about 200 fps to velocity compared to a 7.5 inch barrel.

For example, average velocity on a fair, 80 degree day:
  Hornady 240 gr XTP-MAG 2233 fps
