Welded barrel lug question Shotgun VS Rifle barrel
« on: July 25, 2007, 03:14:47 PM »
Are the NEF/H&R shotgun barrels welded with the same process that is used on the H&R rifle barrels?
The reason I ask is that I always wanted to modify a 20 gauge barrel to accept interchangeable rifle caliber liners.
I have had a 20 gauge shotgun for a long time that might work for low pressure loads but I would prefer to get a H&R barrel
and use it on a receiver suitable for rifle pressures.  I have no interest in getting hit in the face by a blown primer.

Not sure that this post belongs here or on the shotgun forum.

Current production are welded, but older shotgun underlugs were soldered on. Watch the factory video in the FAQs.
