Help with a barrel question please!
« on: July 25, 2007, 06:40:01 PM »
:-\I bought a barrel on Ebay.  It is supposed to have been a Bullberry 7-30 waters.  I received it today and it does not have Bullberry Hurricane Utah on it it has AMT--------------LAZER.  What the heck?!?  Is it a Bullberry barrel?  I mean it's a nice barrel but I thought I was buying a Bullberry.  What do I have?  What do you guy's recommend?  I don't mind the barrel but for what I paid I want what I paid for.  Thanks

why not just call bullberry and ask them if that is a name they used in the past?

I do not know for sure but I can see one thing that looks like the bullberry barrel I had- the scope mount that over hangs to the back but that really doesn't mean much

I talked to September at Bullberry.  She told me that they never marked a barrel that way.  I emailed the seller and he gave me his number.  I called him and he was very appologetic.  He was under the understanding that it was a Bullberry.  I told him I would keep the barrel and he refunded a partion of my money.  I guess everything worked out ok.  I just hope the barrel is a shooter.  I'll be putting a scope on it and trying it out next week.

I would have him refund about 1/2.

I have had bad luck buying barrels on ebay I have bought  2 in the past year or so one was sold as new and when I got it it was fired and had frame marks on it. It was a good barrel but I paid for new and that is not what I got. the second barrel was listed in exultant condition but when I got it the bore was rusty and had rust spots taht where touched up for the picture.

Yeah buyer beware I guess.  In the future I'll probably just buy from here or Ed's TC's.  I've always had good luck with him.  I guess if a deal just looks too good to me true it is.
