What Years and What Calibers was the Model 94 Timber Made?
« on: July 26, 2007, 01:10:34 PM »
I have been trying to find out what years and what calibers the Model 94 Timber was made. I know in 2006 they only made the .450 Marlin. I have seen ads for the Model 94 Timber in .444 Marlin also. I think they may have started making them in 2004 and ended in 2006, if they made any at all that year when the New Haven plant close. I can't find any info that they made the .444 though.  ??

There was a Timber carbine released in 1999, 2004 appears to be the first year of the 450.The Timber Scout was offered in 2005, 30-30 and 44mag.

I believe the Timber Carbine was produced twixt 1999 and 2004.  I have one in 444 that I purchased in 2001.  Mikey.

As to calibers, The Timber Carbine was available in .444 Marlin only, the Timber in .450 Marlin only, and the Timber Scout in the lesser calibers posted above, only.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was trying to find out. The web sites and magazine articles I have read seemed to interchange the "Timber" and "Timber Carbine."  People selling both guns on sites like gunbroker.com also interchange the calibers and descriptions.  It looks like the "Timber Carbine" was produced from 1999 through 2004, as Mikey noted, and was made in the .444 Marlin. According to the Winchester web site, the "Timber" was introduced in 2004 and was only made in the .450 Marlin. The "Timber" was still in Winchester's 2006 book, even though they shut down the plant in 2006. Also from what I have read, they are probably still making the "Timber" with parts already on had. The "Timber" is hard to find and the prices are very high. I know as I am looking for the Timber in 450 Marlin.
