When i was a kid, i liked all the choke i could get.... You needed it with those paper case shells, but then ammo mfg's figured out how to make better ammo. I remember putting a WW Mark 5 in my double's left bbl. and using it for my "long" shot on pheasants... They had a split plastic collar around the shot to keep it off the bbl., and it did make a difference...
I find it much more complicated these days, as the ammo now is all over the board in quality and how it patterns... So, i think you have to "first" decide on the ammo, and then after patterning it, decide on the choke!
OK, i'll admit it, these days, "most" of the time i keep IC in the right bbl, and MOD in the left.... but i don't do as much shotgun shooting as i use to, and i haven't bought any new shotshells in many years....
