.32 cal. Green Mountain T/C Hawkin replacement barrel

I've read lots about .50 .45 and .40 cal. barrels with different twists and dropped a question under another topic with no response. Can anyone speak about the .32?

Sure. Too dang heavy! A friend of mine got one couple years back. He bragged up and down "it's a tack driver!" and I believe that.

 Now, I ain't seen him carry that gun latley,and I don't say nuthin about it when he and I are in the field.(he's my friend). ya don't gotta be no rocket scientist ta do the math on a 15/16 or 1"barrel with a 3 ought' buck shot hole,,,,

p.s. 1/48 is a slow twist with .40 cal or under

The smaller calibers tend to foul the barrel quicker also.

I also agree with the above points, particularly the weight if you're talking about a 1" replacement barrel...not a rifle you'd still hunt with.

I'd add that a tiny little .32cal is also a very limited / specialty kind of a caliber in what you can use it for...and very honestly from personal experience, anything you'd want to do with a .32 ball can be done precisely the same way with a .40cal, or even a .45cal...with 25-30grns powder you can make squirrel head shots all day long with .40-45cals...and the .40 is usually the favorite choice of competition target shooters followed closely by the .45cal (never a .32cal).
Plus, you'd also then have the power-up capability in the .40 or .45cals for other uses that a .32cal would not be suited for.

If it was a 13/16" and you just wanted to have a gun to only use for squirrels that would be one thing....but a .32cal in a 1" barrel is a huge, heavy piece of steel with very limited uses.
