Has anyone heard anything about Big Prairie Bucks in Atoka, OK?
They have guided hog hunts. How are their success rates? Any comments

when  talking  to  a  rep   they said  how  well can  you  shoot!  lol  they  said  close  to 100%  but  anyone  knows anything  about  hogs   that  s  a  very  high number   if  the gudes do  the homework  and  understand  there  movments     should  be  a  great  hunt

I just moved to Texarkana, Tex and noticed that Atoka is not that far away.  What is the cost of this hunt and whom would I get in thouch with to get more info.

Is there any public ground that offers hog hunting in OK? Seems I heard of some hogs North of Claremore? Any advice?

Hello boartuff :D
   I can tell you about the boar hunting north of Claremore. Thats where I live. The pig hunting is spotting at best on private and public land. About two years ago, the game dept, or the Corp of Engineers? flew over and shot them to pieces out of a helicopter. I witnessed it and so did my neighbors. They all but wiped them out and then left them on the ground to rot.
    As far as public hunting goes. they passed a law last year that you can only hunt hogs, on public land during deer season. now on private land you can hunt them year round. They did this I think to get more money from the hunters, cause before they were considered a problem and anyone could hunt them year round on public land.

:cry: Thanks for the info Bulletmaker.It sounds bad,can you see one of us getting away with shooting any kind of game and just letting them lay to rot?What a positive example!
Maybe I can find some private land to hunt the hogs on.That area was considered as it would be just a short drive.

I have checking ariund for some close area's to hunt and I have been told MO. has wild hogs to hunt. Thats as far as my search has gone. What have you found? I would like to try this hunt for the first time, and really don't want to travel to CA or Fl to do it.

:D We do have some in MO,but they are not heavily populated and are hard to hunt.There are a few places in the Mark Twain National Forest that hold them.It takes alot of work,they move around alot,but now and then you can get on them.There are a couple of folks who guide for them here but I have yet to go that route,although I may just do that this fall.Also,a couple of fenced hunts are around.
