Remington Mtn Rifle LSS

How well do these rifles shoot with there thinner barrels?  I LOVE the heft but would like to know how they average for 3 shot groups. I was looking at one in .270 Win and was just curious.

They are very very accurate. Don't for one second think you need a thick varmint barrel for great accuracy. I believe Graybeard has one and will comment. I know a few others do and will reply in time :)

I've owned a total of Four of the LSS versions of the Mtn. Rifle and three other Moutain rifles not the LSS version. ALL have shot an inch or less with multiple loads and most right out of the box with only a bit of trigger pull adjustment needed. One a .30-06 needed a bedding job to begin shooting but the rest didn't. My current one is a .270 which I've yet to even fire but I fully expect to see it shoot like the others have.

Once I got that '06 shooting it didn't open up much with a hot barrel. Most of the others have been about the same. If you're expecting them to be target rifles and to be able to shoot them until the barrel dips from the heat that ain't gonna happen but they shouldn't open up a three or even five shot group because of heat.

Thanks for the replies! :)  I was just wanting a reasonable assessment .. ie 3 shot groups under 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards but preferably around 1".  It just makes it a lot easier when you have some real world knowledge beforehand.  Again, thanks for the answers and keep 'em comin'! ;D

Mine s a well under MOA shooter, but you have to wait awhile between each shot.I have been taking 2 rifles with me to the range, shoot the MTN rifle then while it is cooling down I shoot the other.I give it about 2-3 minutes between shots.Seems to work for me.As long as you touch the barrel with your hand,it is cool enough too shoot.
