Question about 50 grain .25 cal bullets
« on: August 09, 2007, 03:08:06 PM »
I've been seeing .25 cal. 50 grain Hornady reloading bullets lately.  I was tempted to purchase some, but am unfamiliar with that light of a bullet for the .25 caliber.  I have loading manuals going back to the late 70's and cannot find anything about them.  The lightest Hornady listed was for a 60 grain round for the small .25's.  I'm not confused over the weight because I've seen them at three shops in the past week.

Has anyone ever heard of or know anything about them?

I am going to assume your refering to the .251 dia, 50gr, 25 ACP bullet.

Silly me!  You are absolutely right!  I just checked the manuals and Hornady lists such a bullet for the 25 ACP.  Although I do not remember checking the bullet diameter on the box, I do recall the round was a FMJ, just as listed in the manual.  It never dawned on me to look at the .25 ACP  :-[

Many thanks.
