Rossi Puma 454 questions
« on: August 10, 2007, 05:40:29 PM »
Howdy.  This is my first post here.  Been lurking for a bit and reading a lot of good info here on several of the different forums.  This definitely seems to be the place to learn a lot.  Anyway, on to my questions.

I would like to get a Rossi Puma M-92 454 20in barrell in Stainless someday soon.  I do a lot of trail riding so I figure the stainless would be a good choice for possible over night campouts situations that may involve rain.  I cant tell from their website what type of stock they have on their stainless models.  It looks black so I am wondering if it is a composite stock or just a dark wood stock.  I would also like to know if anyone can tell me how many 45LC rounds the 20in barrel model will hold.  Their specs say it will hold 10 454 rounds so I was just curious how many 45LC rounds would fit in the same amount of space, 11 or maybe 12?  Do the Puma's have a half cock feature to safely carry one in the chamber without worry of the firing pin striking the primer in case something would strike the hammer?  And, finally, their website MSRP on the model I speak of is $661.00.  Is that probably what I am going to have to pay or have you all seen any of them for less than that at your local dealers?  Thanks!

Welcome,
The black stock is plastic.
Not sure on the capacity of 45lc but I don't think it would be more then 11.
All new models have safeties on them now. >:(

Contact this guy. http://www.stevesgunz.com/ usally his price is the same as what you would pay plus some action work.
