Groundhogs In Illinois

Topic was at coffee this morning.  Wonder what the very large groundhogs would weigh.  Illinois groundhogs  that are bean fed. Thanks

Friend of mine shot the largest one I have ever heard of near Cahokia in the 60's. Weighed 42 pounds, was mounted and donated to the H.S. biology department. Shooter was named Daniel Waller, shot chuck on river bluffs with marlin model 62 rimfire.
