Shooting bench for kids
« on: August 12, 2007, 01:20:24 PM »
Here is something you can use for a shooting bench for the kids.  Find you one of the all in one school desks at a yard sale that fits them pretty well.  The desk top is usually adjustable.  Put a shooting bag on top of it to give them a comfortable rest to shoot off of and you are good to go!  You even have a storage compartment under the seat for their gear.  It works pretty good for my girl.

A view downrange from the new bench.  The first set of targets are about 30 yards and the furthest set is about 75-80 yards.

Or this one scaled down, upside is that it will work for adults with just another set of legs

One thing I am really liking about the one I built (pictured above) is that I can have a kid sitting normal, facing forward shooting while I sit just to their left straddling the seat so that I am facing them.  In this position, I can coach them, and if necessary, take control of the situation if it ever became necessary.
