Picked up a 1969 copy of Gun Digest last night and of course went looking for T/C's Contender first. Seems in '69 the Contender was offered in 7 calibers and 4 lengths (including a 6" offering) for a whopping $165.00 new!! This was frame, barrel of your choice, and grips. For an additional $2.00 you could get the scope mount, and for yet another $26.00 one could receive the presentation case. Maybe history does need to repeat itself.

When I bought my first Contender in May of 1968 (35 years ago!  Wow, time flies when you're having fun!) the list price for a Contender with one barrel of your choice was $125 if I recall correctly (maybe $135).  Anyhow, I made a deal for a pistol and an extra barrel for the grand sum of $135.  I was, and still am, in heaven!

It wasn't too long after that when I purchased a 'used' Bull 10" 30 Herrett, dies, 100rds formed brass, AND a mounted 2X Leupold for $200 out the door! :D  I still have it--original, and it is my baby. :-D  :-D  :-D
The first shot is the best shot, it may be your only shot!  Do it with a single-shot.
