Weaver Scope Mount Question?
« on: August 13, 2007, 06:45:47 AM »
My Brownell's Catalog lists two different Weaver mounts for the Contender Pistol-Carbine. One is a 60A and the other 92A. Does anyone know the difference in the two mouts? The 60A is a couple of dollars higher in price so I assume that it may be bigger or longer?

The 92A is what I've had my Contender barrels for years.  Don't know about the 60A.  Try looking on Weaver's website for further explanation.

You want the 92A for blue or 92AS for stainless. Weaver does not list a 60A in their charts for TC.   KN

I just checked my Brownells catalog for Weaver bases and it shows 92A for Contenders and 410 for Encores. I see no mention of the 60A. Any way the 92s have always worked on my contenders too.

I just received a new Brownell's catalog this week and it lists the 60A as a "New" item?

Midway lists the 60A for the following:

Material: Aluminum

Style: Weaver

Fits:

Browning 22 Automatic

H & R Models Topper 30, 22 Jet, & 158 (Pre-1973)

Interarms ATD

Norinco 22 Automatic (Replica of Browning 22)

Remington Models 24 & 241

Notes:

This is a 1-piece base.

Mounting Hardware Included

On the Browning 22 Automatic, the base attaches to to the barrel and extends back over the receiver

Nothing on the list looks like a T/C
