rcbs shell holder fits hornady and not BB or Starline ??

about to load up a few practice loads to get aquainted with 475L- the shell holder I was provided with the hornady dies is - rcbs -26.. no list for 475L in rcbs site..
Hornady brass fits great ( have 20) BB brass and starline brass do not fit without a LOT of force to push and pry out..like enough to mar the brass tight...I have bought a lot of starline brass, and will end up with only 60 hornady brass.. I can load for this minit but is there something wrong.

I will order some other holders, but this baffles me.
is the brass that different ? is the rcbs 26 holder just wrong for this brass ?

I've never loaded the .475 L but at least in theory the case should be same as the .480 Ruger which I have loaded. I've used Hornady, RCBS and Lee shell holders on Hornady and Starline which is who makes it for BB in all three with no problems. Generally speaking if you're going to have a problem with shell holder not working it will be with a Lee not an RCBS or Hornady.

RCBS Shell Holder #40 is the one for the 475 LB and 480 Ruger.  Mine works with both Hornady and Starline Brass.  I'm pretty sure Buffalo Bore gets its brass from Starline.  Check for a small burr on the Hornady shell holder.  Sometimes the extractor grove is different enough on different case makes to cause a "tight" shell holder not to work.  Here's a link to Midway's RCBS #40 shell holder.

right Paul.. went to rcbs and the site was less than helpful... did not list the 475L at all.. then finally went on midway just now and found that the # 26 was wrong and sent with the dies by mistake, obviously.. just ordered the right holder for it and several other rounds just to get ready for them too... funny it fits the hornady just fine, but is too tight for either of the other two.
it is wrong but ok for a few cases I have, I guess.
Midway will get em here by the 21st. and till then I will shoot the Hornady factory loads and the Hornady reloads that I can reload later tonite...

I am glad you pointed that out Graybearded One.. I shall do that from now on. I had not used midway before either and took the easy way when it was offered. My Bad.
I will make amends and do better forthwith.
And cheaper and faster too you say...
then it is a no brainer...
