PT111 Pro sights

I'm trying to change my sights to Williams Fire Sights.  This pistol has the dovetail sights.  The sights have a allen screw in them, and a wrench comes with the pistol.  However, the allen screw will not move.  I guess they have locktited them or something.  Has anyone removed this type of Taurus sight, and how did you do iy?

Which one are you having trouble with? I have a 24/7 and I have removed both without to much trouble, although the bolts were pretty tight when I tried to remove them the first time. I wouldn't think they would have a reverse thread on them, mine didn't, maybe try horking on it a little harder, that is unless someone else knows different.

Oh yeah, one other thing, where did you get the sights at?  I hate the stockers and I am looking for an upgrade.

I ordered them directly from Williams. They have a couple of models for Taurus, so use the phone number on the site. In the end I had to destroy the originals to get them off. The firesights are great, but the front sight is green, I prefer a red front, so it was a surprise.

Capt. Agustus-- I am looking to switch my sights out to firesights also.  My stock sight screws are really in there like yours were.  Did you try some heat on the sight area before you tried to loosen the set screws?  Just wondering.  I think I will try it, but will have to be careful not to heat the slide too much.  I would like to remove the sights without damaging them.

I had to take my sights out in pieces.  It was not for the faint of heart.  I tried heat, but it had no effect, at least to the temp I tried.  I finally cut them with a dremel wheel and took them out.  The sight screw is in a channel.
